Along with the new iPhone 7, Apple also introduced the Apple Watch 2 (second generation), announcing that pre-orders for both devices will begin on September 9 and shipments will begin a week later.
Without a doubt, the new white ceramic Apple Watch 2 is an attention-grabbing device.
“Apple Watch Edition is a beautiful ceramic, embodying craftsmanship with a gleaming white chassis and all the incredible features of Apple Watch 2. Ceramic is one of the hardest materials in the world – four times harder than stainless steel – but it makes Apple Watch Edition extremely scratch-resistant,” the company says.
Of course, everything comes at a price. While it's not made of gold, the white ceramic Apple Watch costs $1,249 for the 38mm version and $1,299 for the 42mm version. That's about the same price as the iPhone 7 Plus with 256GB of storage.
These prices are only valid in the US as it is very likely that they will be somewhat higher in Europe due to taxes.
In case you're wondering, the other watches are a little more affordable:
The Apple Watch 2 will cost $369, and the Nike+ version will be available for the same price.
