Anonymous launched #OpIcarus, an operation that aims at the global banking system. Their first target was the Bank of Greece, with DDoS attacks that started yesterday and was first reported by SecNews.gr.
With the Icarus operation (Op Icarus) Anonymous have scheduled DDoS attacks in four sections.
In these are included websites that belong to the American Federal Reserve Bank, the second section concerns target pages of the IMF (International Monetary Fund), the third websites that belong to the World Bank, and the fourth includes 158 national banks. In the last section, there are banks from all over the world, even from underdeveloped countries.
The first bank that was hit by DDoS attacks was the Bank of Greece as we mentioned earlier, but the group appears to have higher targets.
«We must strike at the heart of their empire, …. the global financial system. This time our target is the New York Stock Exchange, and the Bank of England,” say the Anonymous in the video below.
