dLAN 550 WiFi: An adapter that stands out in design and performance
The devolo dLAN 550 WiFi is a particularly compact adapter that can be placed anywhere in the house. Thanks to its two antennas, it offers a wireless connection with a bandwidth of up to 300 Mbps.
Connected directly to the power line, it achieves even greater performance, reaching 500 Mbps and 400 meters of cable distance. Fast downloads and streaming services now become truly fun. Wireless data transfer is carried out via WPA while data transfer via power lines is secured with 128-bit AES encryption, so as to provide protection against unauthorized access.
The awards jury
The Tech Excellence Awards are held annually and give PC Magazine readers and technology enthusiasts the opportunity to highlight the top technology products of the year. The magazine's editorial team also participates in the judging panel. The public participated en masse in the 8th edition of the Tech Excellence Awards , expressing their preferences through an online questionnaire where there were products from each category. The nominated products that participated had either been tested or had been presented through the pages of the magazine.
Product of the Year in the Network Products category
The devolo dLAN 550 WiFi was voted product of the year in the network products category by readers. It is one of the newest members of the devolo powerline adapter range, and despite its new compact and discreet design, the dLAN® 550 WiFi also offers a LAN port for an additional terminal device (e.g. Smart TV). The modern devolo App that accompanies the adapter helps the user to easily manage the home network.
