The company announced a new built-in Smart Lock manager, which will be available in the new Android M developer preview software.Smart Lock manager

As the company reported, developers at Orbitz, Netflix, and The New York Times have updated their apps to use the new feature.

“By integrating the Smart Lock service for passwords into your Android app, you can automatically log in to the app using your saved credentials,” the company says in its presentation of the new feature.

"Use the user's saved credentials to sign in, or use the Credentials API to quickly register new users with partial form completion provided by your application.".

With this new service, Google is trying to compete with similar services by providing an open source password manager and extending the Chrome browser's password manager that stores its users' logins.

With the service's new API, we will soon see the new security feature in many Web applications as well as in those that come for installation on our systems.
