Remote control of devices through gestures is the purpose of the Nod ring from Nod Labs.
Nod Labs is talking about the most advanced gesture control ring - a "universal controller" that allows control of all "smart" devices encountered in everyday life, including phones, tablets, Google Glass, watches, home applications, televisions, computers, etc.
As the company emphasizes, unlike other similar rings, the device will be released directly to the market, without any kind of crowdfunding required, and will be able to work with iOS and Android, Mac OSX and Windows, devices with Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities, Nest "smart" thermostats, etc. The cost is $149.
The Nod is designed to be worn on the index finger, but can be worn on other fingers, depending on the user's preference. The company offers 12 sizes, and notes that it is suitable for use all day, in a variety of conditions, from the office to the home. The ring is also waterproof, and in the case of multiple users, the names of different people are displayed on the screen to show who is in control.

According to the company, it is also possible to use more than one ring at a time, which paves the way for its use as a game controller.
The ring will initially be available in the US, but the company says it aims to soon be able to ship it to customers abroad.
“Nod seamlessly transforms your movements into commands. It brings the world around you to life as you control everything from your laptop to the living room lights with a wave of your hand. It’s like magic,” Nod Labs says on its website.
