Wearable computing has been talked about a lot lately, but it's only talked about. We may have seen projects in some gyms, but big companies like Samsung and Google haven't gotten into the game. At least not yet, because that could change in a month. A SmartWatch, the so-called Galaxy Gear from Samsung, seems to be very close.
The information comes from the authoritative Bloomberg, which reports that “a watch like a smartphone” will see the spotlight with the presentation of the Galaxy Note 3 phablet at the company’s Mobile Unpacked 2 event on September 4.
Rumored details
What will the Gear Galaxy be like? Sources report that it will run Android and will allow for phone calls, web browsing, receiving and sending e-mails. The device will have a dual core Samsung Exynos processor and 1GB of RAM.
What happened to Apple? Assuming that all the rumors are true, Samsung with the Gear Galaxy is ahead of the market since we have not heard anything about the iWatch. Apple, after the death of Jobs, seems to be lagging behind in pioneering moves that excite the buying public.
