Jailbreakers have discovered that evasi0n, a new tool released by evad3rs, brings previously hidden features to the surface of jailbroken devices. But there's also some bad news: the Weather for iPhones has stopped working.
Early adopters of the new jailbreak tool discovered that the Weather no longer works. However, hackers MuscleNerd and pod2g have confirmed that @planetbeing is working on a bug fix. Once it's ready, it will be released via Cydia.
But let's not just stop at the bad news, since evasi0n makes iOS reveal some of its secrets.
For example, while the tool stops the Weather app on iPhones, it makes it appear where it wasn't, namely on iPads. It seems like Apple always wanted to include the app on iPads, but never did. The app has remained hidden in iOS until now.
Evasi0n also reveals two missing “Radio Buy” buttons, which confirms rumors that Apple wants to create an iRadio service.
Rumors broke last year when executives from Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group Corp, and Sony Corp met with Apple to discuss a potential deal to create a comprehensive radio service for iOS.
Bloomberg reported at the time that, “The talks focused in part on how ad revenue would be shared and that a deal could be reached by mid-November, with Apple launching the service in the first three months of 2013.”
