LinkedIn just gave its app a major update
The company released a revamped version of its app on Tuesday. The new app, which was first released in October, is starting to look more like Facebook and other social media apps.
Like Facebook, LinkedIn is centered around a central feed, which shows you updates from people in your network and the content they share on LinkedIn. Similar to Facebook's News Feed, the app filters which updates you see based on your interests — and the company says the feature will get better over time as you use the app more.
The feed on the homepage is structured much like LinkedIn, so you can also see posts from people across the network and articles that are popular among people with similar jobs.
Outside of the feed, there's a "My Network" section, which suggests people you might know, as well as updates about friends you're connected to, like work anniversaries and new job openings. If this sounds familiar, it's because it's similar to LinkedIn, which revolves around these kinds of updates.
Additionally, the updated app includes newly revamped messaging features and a revised search function that LinkedIn says is 300% faster than the previous app.
All new features are available now for iOS and Android.
