A OnePlus 3T device exploded but the company doesn't care

Indian OnePlus 3T owner Akanksha Rachel Saini revealed on Facebook that her smartphone exploded due to a poor-quality battery, with parts like the motherboard shattering into pieces and other components completely melting. Fortunately, no one was injured after this explosion, but as the young woman explains, OnePlus was not very eager to resolve the matter properly.

Akanksha Rachel Saini says that OnePlus was interested primarily in the “technical side of the accident”, probably asking questions about the condition of the phone. While these are details that a phone manufacturer must know when dealing with such extreme cases, Akanksha emphasized that the company «only cares about the phone».

«For OnePlus it may be just a phone but for me it was a life‑threatening accident.» said emphatically.

Furthermore, Akanksha Rachel Saini claims that another OnePlus model belonging to a friend of hers exploded recently due to a bad battery and, just like in her case, the company's support team showed little interest in addressing what is called “life-threatening accident”.

OnePlus has not yet released any statement regarding these claims, but given that the incident has gained significant attention, the company will certainly examine what caused the explosion.
