Greater security in Office 365 from Microsoft

Office 365

The biggest problem for companies using cloud services, such as Office 365, is the trust they place in these types of services. Especially for businesses that have in-house servers, it is quite difficult to use third-party services and trust their sensitive data.

The difficulty of trusting such services has become even greater after the Snowden incident, which has heightened fears of data leaks. For businesses with in-house servers, it is relatively easy to control and monitor their employees, but when the data is in a remote location, it is not at all simple to trust that an employee there can steal data and sell it to competitors for profit.

Microsoft ismigrating its customers from Exchange and SharePoint to Office 365 and wants to reassure its customers about the security of their sensitive data, announced the latest security additions to the service, which concern the paid services Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.

The biggest changes are encryption improvements for Office 365. Emails are currently stored on BitLocker. By the end of this year, Microsoft says it will implement content-level encryption methods, so that sensitive data is protected even if someone gains access to the drive's contents, which may not be encrypted.

Another new feature of Office 365 will be Customer Lockbox, with which the company assures its customers of the security of their data. regarding unauthorized access to their data.
