Facebook is working on a new app that will bring some new features to the ones available on the mobile app.

The new app is called “Phone,” and while its name might suggest that it will allow users to make and receive calls, the app is actually all about caller ID functionality.
Additionally, the Android app will function as a Dialer and call blocking app. This means that users will receive information about who is calling. The “Phone” app will automatically block calls from commonly blocked numbers.
“Phone” will only be available to those with a Facebook account, so Android users who do not have an active account will not be able to take advantage of this application.
Facebook has yet to confirm the app's existence, but some at AndroidPolice recently obtained a screenshot showing the app's description.
Additionally, the app can be installed and updated directly from Facebook on Android. It's unclear whether or not Facebook will make the app available on Play Store , but since it requires a Facebook account, it makes sense that it would be added as an extension through the Facebook app.
The app is not yet available for download, as clicking the “Install” button shown in the screenshot redirects users to a non-existent page with the well-known “no page found” error.
There seems to be an extra effort being made by Facebook to offer more services to mobile users that will keep them connected to its application.
