The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate has filed a criminal case against three (3) underage female students, who attend a high school in Athens, who are accused of disturbing the peace of citizens.
Specifically, in the afternoon hours of 24.01.2015, the CYBER ALERT of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate was informed via e-mail about the existence of a group on a social networking website, in which threatening content with an immediate and present danger to life (armed attack) against the students of the school in question had been posted.
The operations center of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate was immediately mobilized, informing the Attica Security Directorate and the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office, which ordered an investigation to be conducted with the aim of identifying the accused and locating the unknown perpetrators.
As part of the in-depth digital analysis that followed by the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, the electronic traces of the administrators of the group in question were identified, which, as it turned out, belong to the above three underage students.
Yesterday (27.01.2015) police officers from the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate conducted legal searches at the students' homes, while on-site investigations identified the management of the group in question on the specific website.
Also, two (2) mobile phone devices from which the operation was carried out were found and confiscated in their possession.
The case file that was formed will be submitted to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
