Every Monday, AppStore developers try to make us more productive during the week by suggesting new apps that do just that. Last week, just before the Apple Watch was unveiled, we had some watch apps at special prices. Now it's time to understand different measures and units.
This week Productivity Monday has just three apps. None of them are free, but if you're looking for something that converts to something else, these are your best options.
Amount – Currency and unit converter:
A converter app doesn't get any simpler or more elegant than this. It costs $0.99 (€0.77) on the AppStore and has been named Apple's Best New App of 2013, as well as being included in the New and Noteworthy lists or AppStore Editors' Choice.
It has a pleasant interface and over 700 units in more than 30 categories. All you have to do is enter the unit once and you will see all the conversions under it. You can edit the order of the units or search for what you need. There is also a history log so you can check something you searched for a few days ago.
The Converted – has the best interface:
By far the most interesting user experience is provided by The Converted. This app has a nice revamped interface. You can get a clear picture of the units of measurement, and there are a lot of them: 479 units in 21 categories.
You will also have exchange rates for 165 currencies updated daily, every time you connect to the Internet for a few seconds. After that, you can simply enjoy offline functionality.
Vert – the customizable option:
If you're looking for a converter that doesn't require a lot of work, check out Vert. For $4.99 (€3.86), you'll get your hands on a relatively top-notch app in 31 countries. Vert has over 1,000 units in 34 categories and 164 currencies with automatic updates.
The user interface is optimized for iPhone and iPad, and you can get a sleek design with multiple color themes.
