A recent Nortonfor Windows XP created a problem in the software that resulted in security settings being disabled.
The company immediately rushed to declare that the problem has been resolved and called on users to update their software with a new Update. However, the forums “got on fire”, with many users looking for a solution to the problem that had arisen. However, similar incidents seem to have occurred in Windows 7. A message posted on a forum states: “I was informed by phone from Norton that there is a Patch available that will solve the problem. They asked me to update and restart the computer. Indeed, the problem has been resolved… I use Windows 7 Ultimate…”.
Norton now seems to work smoothly on all versions of Windows. If you're still having problems, just make sure you've installed the latest update released by Symantec. More than 23% of users are still using Windows XP, so it wouldn't be surprising if some computers don't have the latest update installed yet.
