Create iOS apps with Swift!

Make-Your-First-iOS-App-Using-Swift-Programming-Language

A month ago, Apple introduced Swift, a new programming language for creating iOS and Mac applications that makes writing code easier, faster, and more interactive.

The language is designed to gradually replace Objective C, but it can also be used to add additional functionality to existing applications, as Swift code works harmoniously with Objective C.

The resources for writing an application in Swift are quite limited, as the language is still in beta, just a month after its release.

One of the best guides to get started learning about Swift is Apple's developer website: developer.apple.com/swift.

You will need a developer ID to access this vast resource. Once you log in, you will be prompted to download the latest BETA version of Xcode 6. This is the only way to interact with Swift.

On the developer website, Apple has published three videos for beginners, intermediate, and advanced, and one for Swift Playgrounds.

Additionally, there are currently two books on the iBookstore that provide in-depth information about Swift: “TheSwiftProgrammingLanguage” and “UsingSwiftwithCocoaandObjective-C.” Both books are completely free and have received positive reviews and comments.

Github is another source that can make learning Swift easier, as there are more than 3000 repositories with code examples, or small applications written in Swift, while there are also websites that offer paid courses, such as udemy.com.
