Google is rolling out a new feature to Google+, essentially adding another counter to users' profiles next to the one that shows how many people follow you or have added you to their circles. The new counter shows the total number of visits your profile has received, so for the sake of vanity..
If you search a little, you will see that you can see the corresponding numbers for any Google+ account, unless of course the user has chosen not to display them in their account settings (Settings->Profile->Show total views).
