Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has secured one of the largest government contracts in recent years, worth $931 million, from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The deal aims to deeply modernize military data centersthrough an advanced, distributed, and fully hybrid multi-cloud architecture.

The value of the contract corresponds to approximately 2.8% of HPE's annual revenueof $33 billion, confirming the importance of the partnership for the company's long-term finances.

A 10-Year Partnership for High-Security Hybrid Cloud
The ten-year Production Other Transaction Authority agreement leverages HPE Private Cloud Enterprise and the GreenLake platform to create a secure, NIST -certified, federal cloud environment that can operate in both production and air-gapped configurations for demanding defense operations.
The long-term nature of the contract lends stability to HPE's finances. The current dividend yields 2.47%, according to InvestingPro.
Digital Transformation for Defense Operations
DISA's strategic goal is to transition to data centers capable of supporting solutions artificial intelligence, automation and business analytics. The production phase of the project follows a successful HPE prototype that was implemented in 2024.

Unified Hybrid Control Plane and Zero Trust Architecture
The new system will enable DISA to manage both on-premises and commercial cloud services through a single hybrid control plane . The environment will support multi-tenant operations, virtual private clouds, and built-in data protection based on a Zero Trust architecture – an approach particularly critical in military infrastructure.
At the same time, HPE continues to show strong performance in the technology equipment market, recording a 13.97% revenue increase over the last twelve-month period.
Infrastructure Consolidation and Management Simplification
Through the implementation, DISA's existing J9 Hosting and Compute system will be merged into a single platform, enabling a unified experience across infrastructure and services . The goal is to reduce complexity, increase IT efficiency and significantly reduce operating and maintenance costs.

DISA is a key unit of the US Department of Defense, providing IT and communications services to military missions. HPE, which is currently trading at around $21.09 per share with a P/E of 24.54, continues to secure contracts that enhance its long-term stability.
