It seems like an algorithm change has confused YouTube recommendations for many users. Some people are seeing old videos they've already watched and strange playlists . Others are also seeing completely unrelated videos about topics they're not interested in.
Affected users are reporting that the strange YouTube recommendations started appearing around noon on November 25th. Some users are still experiencing the issue with 99% of the recommendations being things they have watched, and things they watched several years ago. Podcast from channels are also appearing for some users, reportedly to users who have no interaction with YouTube podcasts.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the problem and when it will be fixed.
There doesn't seem to be a solution available for affected users. One user states that even if you click "Not interested" or "Don't recommend channel", there is no improvement in the situation and YouTube recommendations will be for older videos.

Curiously, many people are reporting that they are watching videos from unpopular channels or channels with very few subscribers. However, it seems that not all users are affected by this error.
