This activity included debugging malware, writing articles for websites, creating bios for social media accounts, and creating AI-generated profile pictures for fake accounts on X.
OpenAI also said it had halted activity that produced social media content related to elections in the US, Rwanda and to a lesser extent India and the European Union, and that none of these networks attracted viral engagement or retained their audiences.
This included efforts undertaken by an Israeli commercial company called STOIC (also called Zero Zeno) that triggered social media comments about the Indian elections, as previously revealed by Meta and OpenAI earlier this May.
