ByteDance's Jimeng AI available on Android and iOS

In 2024, it's all about AI-generated videos! That's why ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, is doubling down on its efforts to stay ahead of the AI ​​race with Jimeng AI.

The idea, of course, is to compete with Sora, a video-creating artificial intelligence model from OpenAIthat was unveiled in February 2024. According to OpenAI, it “can create realistic and imaginative scenes from text-based instructions.”

Reuters reports that ByteDance has expanded its suite of artificial intelligence-focused tools, introducing new software capable of creating videos from text messages.

ByteDance's Faceu Technology has released Jimeng AI on the Apple App Store for Chinese users, following its launch on Android in late July 2024. The introduction of the aforementioned Jimeng AI by ByteDance, the parent company of the popular video app TikTok, comes amid a wave of similar releases in China.

Jimeng AI offers subscription plans priced at $9.65 per month, allowing users to create approximately 2,050 images or 168 AI-generated videos each month.

ByteDance's Jimeng AI available on Android and iOS

Last month, Kuaishou , a major video app in China, made its Kling AI text-to-video model available globally. The beta is open to the world and only requires an email address to sign up.

Additionally, Chinese artificial intelligence startup Zhipu AI launched its video production model Ying last month, and shortly after, another startup, Shengshu, launched its app Vidu.

Faceu Technology operates under the Jianying of ByteDance, which is famous for its video editing app CapCut.
