Brave browser , a browser focused on privacy protection, saw a significant increase in users (7.3%) in May 2024. Specifically, according to its developers, it was the " most important month in terms of its development ."

The biggest growth is due to users in Latin America, where the browser became one of the top apps on the Google Play Store in many countries.
The Brave browser now has more than 78.95 million monthly active users, up 7.3% from April. Daily active users reached 28.64 million, up 4.3% from the previous high. Brave also reported that its 28-day average daily users were 27.27 million, reflecting a 4.32% increase.

As Brave Search is the default search engine for Brave Browser, there has also been increased growth due to the additional users.
According to the company, Brave Search queries per month (QPM) reached 843.02 million. This equates to an annual rate of 9.95 billion searches.
Brave's continued growth can be attributed to its unique features and approach to web. With a focus on user privacy and security, Brave has gained a loyal following among internet users concerned about their data being tracked and shared without their consent.
Brave founder Brendan Eichannounced the above numbers in a post on X.However, he warned that growth will likely slow next summer due to vacations and school closures.

"We're entering summer, so we're on the lookout for the infamous (for browser makers) 'summer slump' phenomenon that's likely due to school breaks, vacations, and more time outdoors," Eich explained.

The Digital Markets Act also helped Brave grow
Brave previously reported that daily iOS installs have increased significantly recently after Apple implemented the Digital Markets Act (DMA) guidelines, allowing users to easily choose their default browser in the EU.
