Choose a topic in Google Slides

You can choose a theme at any point in creating your presentation. But choosing one from the beginning makes it easier to visualize the overall look as you place your elements on your slides.

Step 1: When you open a blank presentation in Google Slides, you should see the Themes sidebar open at once. If not, simply select a slide and select Theme in the toolbar at the top.

Step 2: You will see over 20 themes appear in the sidebar. You can choose from basic light or dark, everyday and colorful or elegant options. Select the one you want and you will see slideshow instantly updated with the new color scheme, fonts and design.

Step 3: Use the X in the top right of the Topics sidebar to close it.
