Samsung will not provide Super HDR to devices older than the Galaxy S24 series, so the Galaxy S23 will not get it either. This news comes from a post on a Korean forum, where an administrator answered this question.

According to his response, there is no Super HDR feature on the Galaxy S23 or older devices. And things get even worse. It turns out that this is not an application, but a fundamental hardware limitation.
What is Samsung Super HDR?
As the name suggests, this feature makes photos stand out by increasing the dynamic range. It does this using things like built-in HDR metadata, Display P3 color gamut, and SDR dimming, among other clever algorithmic techniques.
The feature is very similar to what Google with Android 14, which is called Ultra HDR. The difference is that the S24s can apply Super HDR to photos taken with other Samsung, like the Galaxy S23, meaning every photo on the device.

Early last month, some older Samsung devices (the S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series) received some of the Galaxy AI features that were released with the latest flagship, namely Circle to Search, Live Translate, Chat Assist, and Generative Edit.
This makes the case even more strange. The Galaxy S23 series has a very similar camera system to the latest series (the hardware is essentially the same), and the screens are also quite bright.
It's a bit strange that only the S24 series, and not the Galaxy S23, is capable of supporting Super HDR, while the older generation is not far behind in any area. This leads us to the conclusion that either Samsung is keeping the feature exclusively for the S24 to increase sales, or the moderator who mentioned this doesn't know what he's talking about.

Samsung Galaxy stands out due to its innovative technology. The Galaxy series includes top features such as Super AMOLED displays, which offer vivid colors. In addition, Galaxy models are known for their excellent cameras. Many models feature multiple lenses for excellent photos, while software technology allows them to produce high-quality images in various lighting conditions. Samsung Galaxy also offers a wide range of devices to meet the needs of every user. The Galaxy S23 is a very good choice even if it does not have the Super HDR function.
