Google rejected the first beta version of Android 14 QPR2 (March 2024 Feature Drop) last November.

This move was unexpected, as the company continues to test the first Feature Drop of Android 14 beta, which is expected in December 2023. QPR2 Beta 1 included several improvements, including the ability to remove the “At a Glance” widget, the per-app recording screen, and the revamped volume slider. A little less than a week after the first beta of QPR2 dropped , Google released Beta 1.1, a small update that includes some bug fixes.

Google's release notes for QPR2 Beta 1.1 of Android 14 are brief. They highlight some improvements to system stability and performance, as well as a fix that caused some apps to crash after a software update.
If your Pixel phone is enrolled in the Android beta program and is running Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1, then you will automatically receive the Beta 1.1 OTA update. This update is a minor release and therefore the download size is also relatively small. For the Pixel 8 Pro, the OTA update size is 10 MB, for the Pixel 7 Pro it is 17.1 MB, and for the Pixel 6 it is 7 MB. Alternatively, you can get the OTA file or factory image from Google and sideload or flash it manually on Pixel .
You will notice that updates install much faster on your Pixel now. This is due to improvements that Google has made, reducing the installation time from 30-40 minutes to just a few minutes. The improved installation time is even more noticeable on the Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel Tablet, as they use LZ4 to speed up the process.
If your Pixel is running Android 14 QPR1 Beta and you want to move to the stable channel without any issues, we recommend waiting until Google releases the next stable QPR build. This upgrade is expected to be available in December 2023, along with the Pixel Feature Drop.

Until then, we recommend that you stay in the beta program and ignore any OTA updates that may downgrade the Android 14 version to the latest stable release.
