A new patch for Helldivers 2 has been released, bringing major balance changes to the planetary hazards in the game.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has released yet another patch for the PC and PlayStation 5 cooperative artillery game, this time reducing the recently added planet hazards.
Patch 1,000,103 adjusts the spawn rates for various planetary hazards in the game, including tremors, meteor showers, volcanic activity, firestorms, and ion storms. The result is that hazards will now spawn less frequently during missions.

Elsewhere, Arrowhead mentioned that the patch reduces instances of patrols appearing on players, which should make the game a little easier.
The new patch doesn't address Helldivers 2's annoying friend request issue, however. In a post on the Helldivers Discord, community manager Twinbeard said that this is "one of our top issues right now." However, there's no major update on a fix. "We truly understand that this is both unfortunate and extremely frustrating for those of you affected," Twinbeard added. "We ask for your patience. No bad jokes or military jargon this time, just this."

Helldivers 2 has become a surprise hit of 2024 since its release in February, topping the Steam download charts and reportedly selling around three million copies. According to at least one analyst, it's still in development.
