Sony and Qualcomm are expanding their partnership with Snapdragon chipsets powering the company's mid- and high-end smartphones.

When you think of modern smartphones, names like Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Google, Xiaomi. Sony might not be the first company you think of. However, the company continues to make phones and plans to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

Sony and Qualcomm have agreed to use Snapdragon platforms in Sony phones, in a multi-year deal that expands their existing partnership. Qualcomm's chipsets will be used in Sony's upcoming premium phones , as well as high-range and mid-range smartphones.

Recently, Sony introduced the Xperia 1 V, a smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Mobile and focused on photographers and vloggers. Although it is aimed at relatively specialized users, Sony takes advantage of its advanced camera technology to help users take high-quality photos and videos. The Sony Xperia 1 V costs $1,400.

The company also introduced its new Xperia 10 V last May. This phone is part of Sony's mid-range smartphones and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset and a 60Hz, 1080p OLED display. Sony has started selling it in Europe for €449.
