According to technology journalist Janko Roettgers , the Samsung TV Plus app may soon be available on other non-Samsung TVs . The app hosts hundreds of free channels, and Samsung is said to be in talks to bring the app to TCL TVs.

Samsung TV Plus is a free app that gives you access to an impressive selection of content, having added popular shows like Top Gear, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, NCIS, and Chicago Fire. You can find multiple local and national news channels, as well as Samsung stations like Ride or Drive and The Movie Hub.
Samsung has considered licensing individual channels to other TV makers , but those talks fell through, according to a source familiar with the matter. Other TV makers, including TCL, LG , and Vizio, also have their own free streaming apps, which compete with services that aren't tied to specific TVs, like Paramount's Pluto TV, NBC's Peacock, Fox's Tubi, Roku, and Amazon Freevee. It seems like Samsung wants to make its TV Plus service a free-floating app, but at this point, we can't say if other manufacturers will want the app on their TVs.
