Netflix is taking livestreaming capabilities to the next level with a multi-year partnership with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. Starting in 2024, viewers will be able to tune in LIVE on Netflix for the first major film and television awards show ever to air on Netflix!

As part of the new deal, Netflix will stream this year's 29th Annual SAG Awards on Netflix's YouTube – premiering online on February 26 at 8 p.m. ET.

After nearly 25 years of annual broadcasts by TBS and TNT, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards announced that they would be moving to a streaming service in May 2022. It was obviously only a matter of time before this transition took place.
By moving to a streaming service, the SAG Awards provide viewers with an affordable option compared to cable TV. Notably, viewership for the 28th annual ceremony plummeted from 2 million in 2020 and 2.7 million in 2019 to just 1.8 million this year – it’s about time they made the move!
