If you're gaming on the go and want more control over your experience than you can get with your phone's touchscreen, we've got you covered. iOS 13 (or later) lets you connect a PlayStation controller to your iPhone via Bluetooth. While you can also do this with an iPad and some Xbox controllers, in this article we'll focus on how to connect your PS4 DualShock controller to your iPhone.

- Go to the Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap “Bluetooth” to enter the Bluetooth menu. It may already be on, but if it isn’t, turn it on by clicking the toggle switch at the top of the screen. When Bluetooth is on, the switch will turn green.
- Keep the Bluetooth menu open so you can see when the controller appears and connect it to your phone.
- On your PS4 controller, press the Playstation and Share. Hold them down until the light on your controller starts to flash.
- You should see “DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller” in your iPhone’s Bluetooth menu, under Other Devices. Click on it to connect your controller.
- You will know that your controller is connected when the light on the back stops flashing and lights up a red-pink color.

You can follow the same steps if you want to connect the PS4 controller to an iPad.

If you want to disconnect your controller after you're finished playing, you'll need to do the following:
- If your phone has Face ID enabled , you can access Control Center by swiping diagonally across your screen, from the top right to the bottom left. On a phone with Touch ID, swipe up from the bottom of your screen.
- Press and hold the Bluetooth icon.
- You will see a menu. Find the icon that says “Bluetooth: On,” then tap and hold it.
- Your available devices will appear, including the DualShock controller.
- Tap the name of the controller to disconnect.

You can also navigate to the Bluetooth menu from Settings, the same way you did when pairing the controller. Once there:
- Find “DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller” in the My Devices section and click the small “i” icon next to it.
- Click Log Out.

If you're still having trouble connecting your controller, Apple recommends trying the following:
- Disconnect and reconnect. If it still doesn't work, get more information about connecting Bluetooth accessories to your iPhone.
- If your DualShock 4 controller connects but you still see the message “Connection failed”, try pressing the Playstation (PS) button and waiting for it to connect.
- Make sure you don't already have too many other devices connected, as there are limits to the number of devices you can pair at once.
That's it! Now you can enjoy your game.
