Perhaps one of the most interesting features of Snapchat is Streaks. But sometimes we have found ourselves in the unfortunate position of losing some of the Streaks we have created with our friends. However, there is a way to get them back.

First, let's see what a Streak is on Snapchat?
A Streak on Snapchat starts when you and a friend send direct snaps to each other and continue to do so for more than three consecutive days. After that, a fire symbol appears next to the person's name, along with the number of days you've been exchanging snaps.
Snapchat rewards users with special emojis when they reach certain milestones, such as the mountain emoji or the number 100 emoji.
Snapchat Streaks Rules
The Snapstreak count continues as you and your friend send snaps to each other within a 24-hour period. This means you take a photo / video and send it directly to the other person.
- However, Snapstreak does not include the following:
- Chat or send stickers
- Pictures/videos taken from memories or from the camera
- Content sent via Spectacles
One important emoji to watch out for is the hourglass emoji next to a person's name. This means that your Snapchat Streak with them is about to end. In this case, send a snap or ask that person to send you a snap.
How to restore lost Snapchat Streaks?
Even though Snapchat reminds you when a Snapstreak is about to break, sometimes there's just nothing you can do about it. And once it's broken, the usual procedure is to start a streak from scratch.
But if your lost Snapstreak meant a lot to you, there is a way to get it back. You can start the Snapstreak recovery process by following the steps mentioned below:
- Go to the Snapchat support page.
- Click on Contact Us.
- Select “My Snapstreaks have disappeared” under the “How can we help” section.
- Complete the Snapstreak questionnaire.
- Click Send.
In the questionnaire, try to be as accurate as possible, from typing in your exact username to filling in your exact number of Snapstreaks. It's okay to put in an approximate value in case you can't remember, but it shouldn't be too far off from the original number.
In the “ What information should we know ” question , you can explain the reason behind your Snapstreak loss. Of course, you can say something like the internet connection failed or the app wasn’t working. The goal here is to make Snapchat believe that this is a real case. However, Snapchat will likely reject more than two requests to restore Snapstreaks.
