“This is a serious incident that affects our most important democratic institution,” Søreide added.

Violation of the Norwegian Parliament
According to the announcement released at the time, the attackers attacked the Norwegian Parliament and gained access to a limited number of email of representatives and employees.
In early September, the Parliament website reported that had been stolen data from the compromised accounts. However, researchers have not yet revealed what data was stolen.
The Centre Party confirmed that representatives and employees were affected during the breach.
The Norwegian Labour Party's communications manager, Jarle Roheim Håkonsen, also confirmed that Labour Party employees and politicians have been affected by the cyberattack.
Norwegian authorities and security and intelligence agencies are still investigating the incident. The investigation is also being led by the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM), a government cybersecurity responsible for coordinating the national computer emergency response team (NorCERT).

“As usual, accusations are being made without any effort to present evidence and without discussing the incident at an expert level,” Konstantin Kosachev, head of the Russian Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, said in a statement.
