Here you can find a list of all the improvements and fixes included in this cumulative update.
Issues behind the removal of SQL Server 2019 CU7
Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2019 is plagued by a known reliability issue that affects the database snapshot feature according to a Microsoft post
The database snapshot feature affected by this issue is used implicitly when executing DBCC CHECKDB and its subgroups, unless used with the TABLOCK option as the company says.
“If you downloaded the CU7 package file before September 23, 2020, we recommend that you do not install,” Microsoft explains. “Instead, wait for an upcoming announcement of SQL Server 2019 CU8.”
"If you have already installed SQL Server 2019 CU7 and are using the feature , uninstall it," Microsoft says.
Does not cause errors
Microsoft SQL Server program manager Pedro Lopes further explained that the issue does not result in a memory or SQL error when creating snapshots.
Lopes also added that SQL Server 2019 CU7 can be safely installed until CU8 is released if you are not affected by the above scenarios.
Microsoft plans to include a fix for this known issue in SQL Server 2019 CU8 which is scheduled to be released next month, after October 12.
