Google has released Chrome 86 for iOS and fixes a bug that caused problems with webpages when the device is rotated .
Since the release of Chrome 85, users have complained that when rotating a web pagefrom portrait to landscape and back to portrait, the page had large margins and did not display correctly.

As you can see above, the image shows the initial appearance of the apple.com website in portrait mode, and then you can see how it looks after changing its orientation to landscape and back to portrait.
If you look at the image above, you can see that the appearance of the page after rotation includes a large white margin, causing the page to not display correctly.
In a bug report reported to Google, a Chrome engineer stated that this issue could not be reproduced in Chrome 86.
"We will disable FullscreenBrowserScoped for M85 and restart M86 to 100%, as playback on M86+ was not successful. I'm not sure if building with the iOS 14 SDK fixed this or if the multi-window implementation resolved a lingering bug with this redesigned program," a Chrome engineer said in a Chrome bug report.
According to tests conducted by BleepingComputer after upgrading to Chrome 86, the issue has now been resolved.
While this is a separate and annoying bug that was resolved, it wasn't the only change in Chrome 86.

Other features added to Chrome 86 for iOS give you the ability to do even more:
- You can now set Chrome as your default browser.
- You can check if your saved passwords have been compromised and, if so, how to fix them. Go to Chrome settings > passwords > Check passwords.
- You now have more sharing, opening, and other options when you long-press on Bookmarks, history, recent tabs, and things you want to read later.
- You'll see improvements to personalized stories on your new tab page.
- If you have the “Improve searches and browsing” option enabled, Chrome will offer some extra protection by checking known phishing with Google, in real time.
