iOS 14 is reportedly set to include a new PencilKit feature that will allow you to write text in any text input field using your Apple Pencil, which can then be instantly converted to standard text before sending. So you'll be able to write handwritten text with your Apple Pencil and then convert it into more readable text .
As reported by MacRumors, the PencilKit feature will work with any text input field available on iOS, making it compatible with Messages, Notes, Reminders, Calendar, Mail, and more. A pop-up will appear on the screen whenever you write something with the Apple Pencil, allowing it to be converted to standard text.
Currently, the company does not offer the ability to convert handwritten content to standard text, however, the Notes app can recognize handwritten words and allow them to be searched.
Several third-party apps will also be able to access a PencilKit tool, which will support some new handwriting functionality, but its extent is unclear.
The PencilKit feature is not yet certain to be final and we don't know if it will make it to iOS 14. Apple appears to be taking a new approach to iOS development, which will allow certain features to be disabled and prevented if they are not ready for release, in order to reduce bugs.
But in addition to the new feature, Apple also appears to be working on a drawing feature that supports a function , allowing users to draw a general shape with the Apple Pencil which will then be filled in by iOS.
