Czech authorities dismantle Russian spy network targeting the country

network Czech government officials said a few days ago that Czech authorities had managed to "dismantle" a Russian espionage network operating in the country.

Authorities shut down the network late last year. The network was reportedly createdby Russian hackers with Czech citizenship. Authorities claim the hackers were supported by the Russian intelligence agency FSB and funded by the embassy Russian in Prague.

Russian spies had founded several software and hardware companies and used their own server. The network was created for espionage purposes and to carry out attacks on both the Czech Republic and its EU and NATO allies.

A few days ago, Michal Koudelka, head of the Czech BIS intelligence agency , gave a presentation on the biggest threats the Czech Republic has faced (national security issues).

In his presentation, he also included the spy network, linked to the FSB, as well as the threats coming from Chinese hackers and Islamic terrorist groups.

The BIS intelligence agency has scheduled a press conference for Thursday, October 24, in which it will speak in detail about the security of the past year.

“It is not true,” said . “The embassy has no connection to any intelligence.

This is not the first time that Czech authorities, and specifically the BIS, have accused Russia of carrying out cyberattacks.

The operation to destroy the Russian espionage network was carried out after the cooperation of the BIS intelligence agency with the National Security and Intelligence Service (NUKIB) and the National Organized Crime Center of the Czech Police.

BIS is investigating several related incidents. These days, it is working with Avast to investigate the breach on its (Avast's) internal network.

The BIS is one of the most active and reputable intelligence services in all of Europe and is particularly effective in thwarting cyber espionage operations.
