Blockchain technology voting processes election has been used in in recent times . Most believe that the technology enhances security. However, the FBI discovered that during last year's West Virginia election, there was an attempt to hack the Voatz app that collects votes.
The Voatz breach incident was also confirmed by West Virginia Secretary of State Andrew Warner a few days ago.
The attack was not successful. However, the FBI was alarmed by the hackers.
Warner said: "In last year's election, we identified suspicious activity that was likely an attempt to infiltrate the voting process in West Virginia. Ultimately, there was no intrusion and the security to protect our election process worked as intended."

The FBI is still investigating the incident today.
According to the survey, only 144 voters had used the Voatz app to vote.
This number may sound small, but if the attack were successful it could affect the outcome of the election.
The Voatz app has also been used in other areas (Denver and Utah), in both municipal and presidential elections.
What is worrying, according to the researchers, is that the company (Voatz) did not want to cooperate with the experts in investigating the case.
Apparently, electronic voting is one of the new targets of hackers.
The Voatz app is certainly more secure than using email, but the company is not clear about the processes it uses, which is causing concern among security experts.
Will the 2020 US elections use voting processes based on blockchain technology?
One of the candidates in the 2020 election, Andrew Yang, leader of the Democratic Party, had said that blockchain voting is very important.
However, attempting to hack the Voatz app could alter the data. In fact, the most likely scenario is that this technology.
