A future update to Google Maps will include new features to automatically delete location history.
To date, Google Maps tracks your location for greater convenience (according to Google), as you can simply search your history to easily navigate to a specific destination.
Many people find Google Maps' location history feature particularly useful, but there are also users who consider their privacy much more important. For the latter, Google decided to add the feature to automatically delete their location history from the app.
It should be mentioned that Google Maps already allows data deletion, but manually.
At the moment we don't know many details about how the new feature will be made available, but 9to5google discovered a first beta of the application (10.10 beta) that contains the new feature.
Google Maps more new features
In addition to deleting your history, Google is reportedly working on more additions to the app, such as recommendations based on your personal events. Of course, this means the app will need access to your calendar to be able to look at your Gmail reservations. So if a specific location is mentioned in your calendar entries, Google Maps will be able to automatically give you navigation directions to your destination.
Obviously, you will also have the option to disable your personal events on Google Maps.
