Windows 10 Activity History: The privacy dashboard on Microsoft's website lists your recent activity, such as the pages you visited or the apps you used, even if Activity History is turned off in Windows 10.
Recent versions of Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system have a feature called Activity History, which tracks what you do on the device so they can create benchmarks.
Activity History enables the Timeline feature of your operating system. Currently, only a few apps, such as Microsoft Edge or Office, support this feature, and the main idea is to show history to users.
Activity History comes with three main options in the Settings app:
Store my activity history on this device.
Send my activity history to Microsoft.
Show activity for specific accounts.
The first monitors activities on the device, the second transmits them to Microsoft.
But even if you disable all three options in Settings, your activity may still be present on the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard located at account.microsoft.com.
A Reddit user noticed the issue and posted a question about it. The login was done with a local Microsoft account and was only used for the Store.
The Reddit user noticed that even with activity history turned off, his activities were still showing up in his Microsoft account's privacy dashboard.
I verified this on a Windows 10 device. With Activity History turned off in the Settings app, Microsoft's Privacy Dashboard still shows my activity on the device.
You can verify this yourself by opening Microsoft's Privacy Dashboard and selecting Activity History when it loads.
