Security company Bitdefender has released the Bitdefender TrafficLight extension for the Firefox browser. It is a free security extension and is the first Bitdefender extension developed with the WebExtensions system.
It brings new features, compared to the previous version.

The Bitdefender TrafficLight for Firefox extension offers free security indicators on the websites you visit and on the websites displayed in supported search engines. The extension simply informs you, and will not prevent you from visiting pages that it identifies as dangerous.
The extension works independently, meaning you should not use any other Bitdefender security application.
It will display a green icon for safe pages and a red icon for potentially malicious or dangerous pages. The extension checks each page for malware, phishing or spam and will report its findings to you.
Bitdefender TrafficLight will display the security icons on supported search engines. It only works on certain search services, such as: Google, Yahoo Search, DuckDuckGo and Bing, while it does not work on Startpage, Yandex, or Baidu for now at least.
The Bitdefender extension sports a settings page, from where you can enable or disable security features.
