Apple seems to be in serious trouble, as more and more iPhone users complain about their devices slowing down, with a lawsuit demanding $999 billion in damages from the company.
The legal battle began when Apple admitted earlier this month that it was slowing down older iPhones to address battery degradation.
The plaintiffs allege that the company intentionally reduced iPhone performance as a solution to minimize the effects of worn-out batteries, without informing buyers.
This caused many of the company's existing customers to buy newer models, as Apple never revealed that the slowdown in its older models could be fully fixed by replacing the battery in these devices or avoiding downloading iOS updates.
Additionally, the lawsuit states that most customers purchased new iPhone models to get better performance, and names the iPhone 4 through the iPhone 8 as the devices affected by the slowdown.
Apple has not commented on the lawsuit that has been filed and there is a chance that it will never issue a statement, especially when the number of people interested in filing a lawsuit is increasing daily.
While it's hard to believe that the company could agree to a $999 billion settlement, Apple is clearly in big trouble right now, not necessarily because of the lawsuit itself, but because its customers are losing faith in the company and its products.
