Microsoft has released another update for the official OneDrive app on Android, just a few weeks after releasing a major upgrade with an improved look and new features .
The new version, OneDrive 5.2, for Android introduces full support for Android Notification Channels, giving users complete control over notifications.

New features include updates introduced with the previous version, such as a new look, better feel, and faster access to shared files. All of these are also found in version 5.1, which was released on December 7th.
It should be noted that today's release comes after four different beta builds, with the last one being released on December 20. Therefore, work on the new update is already underway, with the first beta release expected in early January.
Version 5.1, however, brought many more changes, including a UI overhaul that aligns it with the iOS client. Microsoft is committed to improving the Android and iOS apps to the fullest extent in order to provide users with a seamless experience regardless of platform.
Given the demise of Windows Phone, improving the Android and iOS experience is a priority with a significant share of users moving to one of these two platforms looking for Microsoft apps.
OneDrive for Android is one of Microsoft's most successful apps, with over 100 million downloads according to Google Play Store statistics. The app also has an overall rating of 4.4 stars and 916,500 reviews.
