Make Mozilla Firefox look like Google Chrome

Firefox When we talk about browsers, two names come to mind: Chromium and Mozilla Firefox. The latter is often considered a more private alternative to Google Chrome.

For beginners, however, choosing between the two is not an easy thing and what is even more difficult is switching from one to the other.

However, thanks to ChromeFox, available on GitHub, you can make the transition from Google Chrome to Mozilla Firefox easier while maintaining the familiar look of Google's browser.

You might think it's not important. However, the lack of a familiar interface is the main reason why many people refuse to move from one product to another, and this happens in many other areas beyond software. The best example, however, is Windows 7, which for many is the last desktop operating system with a familiar interface, as both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 introduced many changes.

When it comes to browsers, ChromeFox does exactly that: it updates the Mozilla Firefox interface to make it look like Google Chrome, so that when someone comes from Google's browser to Firefox, they feel "at home.".

Installing ChromeFox is not a difficult process, but it is a little more complicated than installing an extension or any other add-on for Mozilla Firefox.

What you need to do is head over to the official GitHub page and download it. Then, you need to extract all the contents of the file to your Mozilla Firefox profile directory.

If you don't know where this is, no problem. You can easily find it by clicking the Firefox menu button in the browser, and then following this path:

Help > Troubleshooting Info > Profile Directory > Open Folder

Next, you need to create a folder called chrome, if it doesn't already exist, and in this newly created directory place the contents of the file you downloaded from GitHub.

The next time you log into Firefox, the Google Chrome look should be enabled by default. What's worth knowing is that ChromeFox comes with no options or configuration settings, so what you see is what you get.

If at some point in the future you want to remove the Google Chrome appearance and return to the classic Mozilla Firefox interface, all you have to do is either completely delete the chrome folder you created, or simply remove the files you placed inside.

Testing ChromeFox on Mozilla Firefox showed that it works really well. Of course, for Firefox fans, making their favorite browser look like its number one rival is not the best idea.

If ChromeFox doesn't suit you, there are alternatives that do pretty much the same thing. One of the most common is MaterialFox.
