Foldable screens are set to be the next big thing in technology, which started with foldable smartphones that can be converted into tablets.

Companies like Microsoft, Apple, Huawei, and Xiaomi are already working on foldable devices, while Samsung is expected to unveil its foldable smartphone – the Galaxy X or F, as rumored – sometime next year.

But Samsung just confirmed that it's also working on a foldable laptop with a flexible display.

Samsung's Lee Min-Cheol said: "As with foldable smartphones, Samsung is working with display manufacturers to develop laptops with foldable screens that will not just fold in and out, but will create a new user experience."

He also confirmed that the company is already working with other panel manufacturers (most likely LG) to develop large AMOLED displays for these laptops.

Min-Cheol added that the company is also working with these manufacturers to produce flexible AMOLED displays for its upcoming foldable phones.

Meanwhile, other companies, such as Lenovo, are also rumored to be working on a foldable laptop, and Microsoft on the other hand, continues to reveal hints that a foldable Surface device is on the way.

At the moment, there are no other details available about Samsung's foldable laptop, but we may get a chance to hear more at the Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco, which starts on November 7th.
