Apple recently announced the availability of a global keyboard service program for select MacBook and MacBook Pro models.
The company, with this move, acknowledges that some MacBook and MacBook Pro models have a problem with their keyboard, resulting in letters or characters repeating unexpectedly or not appearing at all.
It was also found that on some keyboards the keys are not easy to touch or do not respond at all.
Luckily for us, Apple has decided to repair these defective keyboards free of charge.
"The type of service offered will be determined after examination of the keyboard and may include replacing one or more keys or the entire keyboard," Apple said.
Apple emphasized that if your MacBook or MacBook Pro comes with any other damage that prevents the keyboard from being repaired, that will be resolved first and you may have to pay for the corresponding repair.
According to the company's announcement, the devices included in the new free program are:
MacBook Early 2015 -12 inch- with Retina display
MacBook Early 2016 -12 inch- with Retina display
MacBook 2017 -12 inch- with Retina display
MacBook Pro 2016 -13 inch- with two and four Thunderbolt 3 ports
MacBook Pro 2017 -13 inch- with two and four Thunderbolt 3 ports
MacBook Pro 2016 15 inch
MacBook Pro 2017
Those who own one of these MacBook or MacBook Pro models and are experiencing issues with their keyboard are urged to go to their nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or mail in their device to an Apple Repair Center.
