When you hear about MSI laptops, you probably think of a gaming product from the company. However, at Computex 2018, the company introduced the MSI Prestige PS42 business laptop. It's a very lightweight, 14-inch laptop designed to make you a productivity champion.

At just 1.1 kilograms, the Prestige PS42 is lighter than the 13-inch XPS 13 and the MacBook Pro, but not the Lenovo X1 Carbon, which holds the title in terms of weight (about 1 kilogram).
The Prestige's keyboard is definitely one of its big advantages. The keys are extremely flexible and responsive, and have an interesting, high-tech font that looks a bit like it came from the company's classic gaming laptops.
Everything else around is mainly for professionals, including the silver touchpad with a fingerprint reader in the upper left corner. There's also a three-LED array to the left of the keyboard, with one of them indicating the hard drive's activity, something we don't usually see on lightweight laptops.
The Prestige PS42 has a variety of connections, including two USB Type-A ports, HDMI output, a microSD card slot, and two USB Type-C ports, but it lacks the Thunderbolt 3 that most people prefer on premium machines. Unfortunately, MSI says you won't be able to charge the laptop via the Type-C ports, and you'll have to use a power adapter.

The PS42, on the other hand, packs an Intel Core i7 U Series CPU, 16GB of RAM, an m.2 SSD, and an Nvidia MX150 GPU. It will also feature a 1920 x 1080 IPS display that promises to reproduce 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The company's Cooler Boost 3 thermal technology helps prevent components from overheating.
In terms of energy autonomy, she claims that her laptop will be fully functional for up to 10 hours on a single charge.
The company did not announce an exact price, but since this is a premium device, we assume it will cost over 1,000 Euros.
