be quiet! is primarily known for its high-tech, silent power supplies. However, a company, in an effort to increase its sales, must responsibly address the various financial capabilities of users.
This month be quiet! launched its new Power System U9 PSUs aimed at home system builders and will be sold at more affordable prices than other products. The new PSUs carry the 80Plus Bronze label and have a power rating of 400-700 Watts. As the brand name suggests, the power supplies promise to be quiet.
Be quiet! Power U9 is compliant with ATX 12V 2.4 and EPS 12V 2.92 specifications (EPS only for 600 and 700 Watt versions), fully supports Intel as well as Energy Star 6.1.
They will feature two powerful power rails and up to four PCIe connections used by graphics cards and other demanding components. In an effort to make the PSUs quiet, they have built them with a temperature-controlled fan and a size of 120 mm.
The Power System U9 series consists of four models with nominal output power of 400, 500, 600 and 700 W. be quiet!! emphasizes that each PSU from this series is equipped with all kinds of circuit protection as well as overheat protection (OTP). Furthermore, since we are dealing with relatively inexpensive PSU units, we should add that they are not modular.
Finally, all models in the new series will come with a three-year warranty. The most affordable PSU in the category, the 400 W, will cost $44.9 in the US, while the larger 700 W will sell for $74.9.
