Google Wifi detects which of your devices have a poor connection

WifiGoogle Google Wifi that will allow you to check the connection quality of each smart device on your network.

In the coming weeks, you'll be able to use the Google Wifi app to check the connection of any device connected to your network, whether it's an Amazon Echo, a smart TV, or any other IoT device.

Google's Wifi network already lets you measure the speed and quality of your internet connection, but the new feature will essentially let you run a speed test on each smart device connected to your network individually.

Once you know which devices don't have such a good connection, you can move them to a spot closer to your router to ensure better speed or move your router closer to them.

While this move may seem like a simple update, it will actually be quite significant in the future as smart home technologies become more and more prevalent. Google claims that there are an average of 18 devices that each Google Wifi network can support – and it’s certainly difficult to keep track of and control all of those devices.

This feature will help you design your smart home in a way that guarantees good connectivity and high speeds for each device. You can also instantly fix connectivity issues and more easily find the right places to place your devices around the house.
