Microsoft: How will it make two foldable screens look like one?

A foldable Microsoft device is set to make its appearance sooner or later as another patent was recently revealed that proves the device is in the works.

The patent describes a curved display with controlled lighting levels. It also describes how the display can be modified to appear flat.

Having two curved screens joined together certainly offers several advantages, such as a larger surface area. On the other hand, the expansive screen can distort images at the point where the two individual parts are connected.

Microsoft explains in the patent how it intends to solve this particular distortion problem. A special layer placed on the screen would allow images to appear flat despite the curved shape of the screens.

The image correction layer works with the light-emitting surface, shaping the brightness of the display in such a way as to form a seemingly flat image, despite the existence of curved screens.

The patent was filed in early 2017, at a time when Microsoft is no longer committed to Windows phones, so there's a good chance that this new technology is its biggest focus.

All we can do is wait patiently until the official presentation of Microsoft's first foldable smartphone . Of course, no one can guarantee us that this new creation will finally see the light of day or will simply remain in the testing stage.
