Google Android recently released the Security Patch for supported Pixel and Nexus addressing more than 40 vulnerabilities and security bugs.
The Android Security Patch currently targets Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Pixel C , fixing 10 security vulnerabilities in the 2018-04-01 security patch and 43 security vulnerabilities in the 2018-04-05 security patch.
It is worth noting at this point that one of the most serious issues was identified in the Media framework and allows a hacker to remotely use a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code.
In addition to the security vulnerabilities described by Google in the security bulletin, supported Google Pixel and Nexus devices received patches for other security vulnerabilities along with fixes for some functionality issues (improving device performance and connectivity). Features such as messaging, battery, logging, audio, GPS, and the user interface were also improved.
