AV-TEST has conducted a new antivirus survey, determining the solutions that offer the best malware protection in the enterprise.
Top products that have been leading the market for some time now include security software from Kaspersky, Symantec, and Trend Micro.
This time, however, Kaspersky managed to dominate with two different products, Endpoint Security and Small Office Security, using the same engine and receiving maximum scores in protection, performance, and usability tests (total of 18 points).
Symantec's Endpoint Protection Cloud and Trend Micro Office Scan delivered top performance and earned 18 points, while Bitdefender Endpoint Security came in very close with 17.5 points.
Two different security solutions received the lowest score of 14.5 points, namely F-Secure PSB Computer Protection and Palo Alto Networks Traps. The former received 6 points for protection, 5.5 for performance and only 3 for usability, while the latter earned 4.5, 5.0 and 5.0 points, respectively.
G Data's Antivirus Business antivirus also did not bring the expected results, with an overall score of just 15.5 points (5.5 points for protection, 5 points for performance, and 5 for usability).
Of particular note is the performance of Microsoft Windows Defender Antivirus, which scored at least 17 points, with flawless performance in the protection tests. Microsoft prides itself on the protection it offers to business users. Windows Defender is also able to defend home users' systems even though it doesn't have the same security arsenal.
The tests were conducted in January and February, and you can see the full results in the two images included in this article.
